Using up your scrappy strips!

Hi there

Do hope that you are all keeping well :)   We have had a bit of rain here in Coggeshall, this week has definitely been a bit more cloudy and overcast... more time to craft! ;) tee hee

I don't know about you, but I always seem to have a lot of paper off cuts, especially white ..

I saw this great video on You Tube by Ingrid Blackburn from the Creative Grove, you can see it here

Ingrid showed 14 different ways to use up your paper and card strips, very worthwhile  watching for some great tips :) I thought I would start with Ingrid's tips for white card strips :)

I started by dry embossing various strips in the new Seabed 3D embossing folder, then adhered them to a whisper white card layer with multi purpose glue.

I stamped the beautiful bouquet from Fancy Phrases in Basic Gray ink and coloured it in with watercolour pencils from Stampin' Up!, which gives a lovely delicate look.  The sentiment is from the lovely Comfort & Hope stamp set, which I just love using.

I hope you will visit Ingrid's You Tube channel and see her amazing ideas for using up your paper and card scrappy strips :)

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries about my card.

Take care and have fun getting inky ;)

Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights - July 2020

Hi there

Hope you are all keeping well :)

I am delighted to be joining in again with Kylie's International Blog Highlights for July 2020.  The theme is 'Thank You'.  I love making and sending Thank You and other Happy cards in the post :)

My card is a take on Bruno's scrappy technique and the Bargello quilting technique as shown in a card by Tracy Ware (Redsas on Instagram).

I have used small stripes of patterned paper from the Playing with Patterns DSP.  They were adhered using the new adhesive sheets (152334), then cut into strips in the other direction (90°) to the way they were laid down.  Hope that makes sense, easier to do than explain! Lol!

Here is my first try! I felt it needed more definition, hope I managed that in my second attempt!

I would really appreciate it, if you could vote for me ;) ...and four others, by clicking on the link below ;)  Enjoy looking through at all the amazing projects from some very talented crafter's!

Thank you so much and hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop.

Take care and have fun getting inky.

In Good Taste with Healing Hugs Roses

Hi there

Many thanks for popping over to my blog today :) do hope you are keeping well!

It is the first cloudy day in ages, so can't complain... I am sure lots of gardener's will welcome some rain!

I made this cute patterned paper card as a challenge, I originally made it in the retired bird Ballard papers, but have made it again with the beautiful In Good Taste patterned paper, which comes in a mega pack of 24 sheets of 12 x 12 paper with loads of different designs!

I have CASE'd this really fun and easy fold from the lovely Patty Bennett, you can see how she made this on her YouTube channel here

I just love it! I think I am obsessed with making patterned paper cards at the moment! Lol

What do think of the Night of Navy trim on the front?  I wanted to use current product but Stampin' Up! no longer carry a border punch :(  but I discovered that if I punched out the bottom of the Umbrella punch I could make a little border strip! Yay!  My other option was punching circles and then lining them all up!  This was much easier :)

Here is my first one in the bird ballard DSP :)

Well that is all for today, must get on and tidy up my crafting space, it is in a huge mess... and I want to be ready for Ruth's Saturday card challenge on Facebook tomorrow!

Take care and have fun getting inky!

Fancy Phrases Emboss Resist - team challange

Hi there

Do hope you are all keeping well. Well we have been super lucky with the weather! Another beautiful day here in Coggeshall :)

We had a fun team challenge last week to make a card using the emboss resist technique :)  As I had some card already cut as a 'Z' fold from my previous project from Julie Davison's Online Class (see Kylie's International Highlights challenge post).  I decided to use the cut card base and the new Fancy Phrases flower cluster, which is so pretty :)

I stamped in versamark and embossed in copper for one flower and the sentiment, then again in white for three other partial flower clusters.  I also stamped the flower onto the card base in Old Olive ink, the same as the card base.

I then used a quarter piece of sponge to apply Old Olive ink to the whole of the card front layer that I had heat embossed.

It was a lot quicker to make than explain here! Lol :)

Not sure if I have managed to capture  the lovely copper embossing...

Hope you also have had fun getting inky today!

Take care

Well I just had to jump on to show you the absolutely stunning and gorgeous stationery treasure box that my friend, Natalie, over at Crafty Hunnypots has made for me, I am totally in awe of her amazing skills and talent.

Plus, what a fabulous card as well, using the Lovely You stamp set.  Natalie has a wonderful eye for design and detail, which you can see when you pop over to her blog ;)

I might even show you a photo of the inside tomorrow after I have absorbed it all in, feeling so lucky and blessed!

Well take care and have fun getting inky!

SUOC251: Color Challenge

Hi there

Hope you are all keeping well, thank you for popping over to visit me.

Today I am joining in with the Stampin' Up! Only Colour Challenge number 251

These are such beautiful colours, I really love this combination!

I decided to use one of my new stamp sets from the new Annual Catalogue, just released on the 3 June 2020 for this lovely colour combination.  It is called 'Posted for you' it comes with a postage style punch, I just love it!

Here is my card in Coastal Cabana with a Soft Suede strip that has been embossed with the pine planks embossing folder and a 2 cm strip of Petal Pink, that I have stamped in Petal Pink with the leaf from the 'Free as a Bird' set and then embossed with one of the Greenery embossing folders :)

This was a fun project and I love the colour combination.

Please do contact me, if you have any questions about my project or you need any help in purchasing any of these items.

Hope you have a lovely week.

Take care and have fun getting inky!
